So you want to sit at home and make money do you? Tell your manager to "shove it" and become your own boss, sit around in your underwear and robe all day and still manage to pay the mortgage?
Well, don't we all?
However, before you invest in more slippers and change your Facebook status to "self employed", there are few things you should probably consider.
First, be sure that you are self disciplined.

Making money in the comfort of your own home still means that you have to work. Only, now you will have more distractions than that big wall mounted clock you like to stare at from your cubicle.Do you have the right kind of self discipline to be productive without an overlord?
A good idea might be to simply reduce your hours at your job first before walking out into the world of self employment. Dip your toes in the freelancer pool a little first and see if you can handle the heat. If make enough with your side gig to make up for the day you lose, than you are on the right track.
Second, make sure you are loving what you are doing.

This rule goes hand in hand with the first rule. For example, if you are planning to be a freelance online copywriter, you are going to have to love writing. If you are only in like with writing, you might find yourself playing more WOW than penning articles. If you actually enjoy the stay at home career you are going into, than self discipline will come naturally.
Third, make sure that you can make enough money.

The reason why most of us still commute is because making money in the comfort of your second bedroom that is now an office can be a challenge. Sure you enjoy giving your opinion and the website claims you can make oodles of money by taking online surveys. However,they do not tell you the hundreds of surveys you are going to have to sort through in order to make a decent living. Whether it is affiliate marketing, App Designing, or selling stuff at on an auction site, make sure that you new career yields lucrative results.
